The Movement Movement’s 2007 season to run 4 major institutions on a Canadian Art Tour.
The cross-country tour runs out of the Royal Ontario Museum in May 2006. A touring art event
is part of the larger running narrative, an on-going public art project to ‘Run with Art’
by running the world’s art institutions: The Movement Movement.

2008

Ontario Art Marathon: The Movement Movement runs Ontario’s Art Institutions, one kilometer
at a time, running a marathon across the province. The Movement Movement mobilizes Ontarians
to run with art by actively participating in a grand running narrative and social sculpture. A series
of performances, public events and exhibitions, the Ontario Art Marathon runs from the Art Gallery of Mississauga to Thunder Bay Art Gallery. Our movement connects the public art galleries
and artist run centres across the province. The marathon engages Ontarians to redefine
our relationship(s) to art institutions. By clocking kilometers in Ontario’s public art galleries
for a total of 42.195 Kilometers, The Movement Movement runs an art marathon.
The project is a running survey of culture in Ontario via running its sites.
